I want to be honest with you. Tarot cards used to make me a little skeptical.
Not because I wasn't drawn to them. Something about them always intrigued me. But…because I grew up in a Christian family, I associated tarot cards with being bad…evil…like I was calling out to Satan himself. And so it left me feeling guilty and weird for being interested in them. I hid that part of me for a long time.
Now, I actually work a lot with Oracle and Tarot cards (and I’m embarrassed to say just how many decks I own). They’re a tool I come back to especially when I’m feeling stuck or struggling to make sense of something.
SO, when I found out Kelli was designing her own digital oracle deck with the incredibly talented Taren (who did my new branding & is building my app), I was so excited!! I knew it was going to be something special.
And it is. And so I want to share it with you.
I asked Kelli to share a bit about her relationship with tarot and what she wants people to know about it. Here's what she said.
Kelli here...
The thing people get most wrong about tarot is thinking it tells you what's going to happen. It doesn't. It reflects back what's already happening inside you.
We all have intuition. Every single one of us. The answers already live within us. Cards just help bring them to the front of your awareness.
I use both Tarot and Oracle cards every morning. I might ask something like "What do I need to know about my work today?" or "What's the energy around this decision I'm making?" And then I sit with what comes up. Not as a prediction, but as a prompt.
The most powerful moment I've had with cards was when I was trying to decide whether to stay in my corporate career or go all in on my healing business. I did a spread that looked at both paths side by side. The cards on the corporate side spoke to difficulty and feeling unfulfilled. The cards on the entrepreneur side were all about purpose, optimism, and wellbeing. It was so clear. That reading gave me the courage to trust what I already knew deep down.
I use cards with clients too. I remember doing a reading for someone and the cards were showing me they were starting a business with their life partner, where their partner would be forward facing and they would handle things behind-the-scenes. Creative, fun, successful. After they picked their jaw up off the floor, they told me that was exactly what they were doing but hadn't told anyone yet.
That's the power of this. It's not magic. It's just a really beautiful way of making space to hear yourself.
That's actually what inspired this deck. I wanted cards that reminded people of the wisdom that already lives inside them. Because as humans, we have a habit of forgetting what wonderful, powerful beings we really are. These cards are like that trusted friend who looks you in the eyes and says "straighten your crown, darling, and remember who you are."
Back to Jenn…
I love this so much. Because it's so aligned with what I believe about coaching too. The answers aren't somewhere outside of you. You already have them. Sometimes you just need the right conditions to hear them.
Let’s Experiment
This month's experiment is simple. Go try Kelli's digital oracle deck.
Before you pull a card, get quiet for a moment. Take a few breaths. Hold a question in your mind. Not a yes or no question. Something open, like "What do I need to pay attention to right now?" or "What am I not seeing clearly?"
Then pull a card and just sit with what comes up. No pressure to interpret it perfectly. Just notice what resonates.
Why this matters:
We spend so much of our lives looking outside ourselves for answers. More advice, more content, more opinions. The anti-hustle experiment has always been about slowing down and trusting yourself…and trying new things!
Want to challenge yourself?
Share in the comments what question you asked and what came up for you. We'd love to hear it.
